Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism made him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
